#SaturdaySpotlight is on Teri Smith and God in my Jello?

Good Morning from Santee, South Carolina!

Not sure what we're doing today...all depends on Mother Nature, whom I assure you is not always nice. Our drive up was pleasant enough. I'll be sharing all sorts of vacation memories with you soon, but for now, please welcome Teri Smith Pickens back to our blog with an excerpt from her children's book, God in my Jello?

Do you confuse the feeling of fear with experiencing real danger?

Millions of people are living their lives under the fundamental assumption that survival is the basic instinct.

What if that assumption were wrong?

If it were, if it turned out to be wrong, the whole of humanity’s interactive responses with, to, and for each other, would be found to have been dramatically in error, producing just the opposite outcome of those originally intended by the Creator.

This is, in fact, precisely the state of the human experience today!

Excerpt:

The Tale of God in My Jell-O?

Once upon a time on a planet far away, a sorcerer named Irrational Fear (IF) was cast out of heaven after he tried to replace our Rational Fear (RF) instinct and erase angel Faith. To get his revenge against God, Irrational Fear and newfound pal, Lucifer, another outcast seething in the darkness, devised a plan to alter the DNA recipe of the children’s Jell-O by introducing Virus Malware Defectors, who when executed, replaced the Foundation Angels and replicated by inserting copies of themselves into the children’s DNA recipe before it is set around eighteen years old. The plan was so cleverly executed that over two thousand years had passed before humankind even became vaguely aware that strange imagined fears of the primal kind were wreaking havoc in every corner of the earth. Irrational fears became integral to people’s way of life so much that it was ingrained in the culture and accepted individually and publicly. Due to its insidious nature, people failed to see the threat it posed to every individual and their very civilization. Acting from their primal fear instinct, people began taking whatever they could as fast as they could, believing they are the center of things, ignoring the suffering of others as if they have no right to exist, becoming a danger to self, family, friends, and society at large as they relentlessly assaulted the earth. After experiencing the horrors of road rage, mass killings, senseless suicides, and a complete disregard for human life, people needed to rise up and shout “enough is enough.” But one Defector, Denial, not the river in Egypt, cleverly maintained the status quo. It was time to pray for God’s grace but the divine irony of course, according to the Pew Research Center’s 2014 Religious Landscape Study, was that faith in God was quickly eroding with nearly one-inten now saying they don’t believe in God.

In the meantime, “as in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage right up to the day when Noah went into the ark” (Mat. 24:38), life went on as usual. This event characterized what came to be called, spirit of Antichrist. In order to return the people to Sonship or worship of God, the struggle would inevitably result in Holy War. Will Irrational Fear succeed in taking down another great civilization like the Roman Empire? Will God and the Foundation Angels win this Holy War? Only time will tell.

Brought to our attention from Prime Star Publicity, Teri Smith is a visionary, life coach, speaker, and popular author. Her career started in the mental health field with aspects of wellness and nutrition. A graduate of New York University and Hunter College, she has inspired and transformed many lives through her coaching, speaking, training, and media appearances. An avid believer in the mind, body, and spirit connection, she has dedicated her life’s purpose to ridding the world of Survival Mode Syndrome. It was during the winter of 2008 after several spiritual quests, including a trip to Medjugorge, that Teri experienced an epiphany. She described it as if listening to a radio broadcast but happening in her own head, and she couldn’t turn it off. Teri felt it was triggered by a passionate interest since childhood in the mysteries of the cosmos and a desire to find out why some people are so strongly opposed to any concept of a power greater than them. She felt she had unknowingly knocked, and a door to the unseen had opened in her mind. The broadcast continued for several years, and she was thrust into situations in order to experience every painful symptom of a phrase she coined, Survival Mode Syndrome.

Teri had many challenges convincing others of the epiphany. After years of writing and counseling about it, she realized she needed a format that people could embrace. Once again, she knocked and a door, this time taking the form of a dream, opened leaving her with two simple words “children and parody.” After much arguing with God about not knowing what the words meant, she sat at the computer where her hands began to move as if on their own and the rest is history. Teri, following in the steps of Jesus Christ, walked away from the comforts of life and family to discover her true self. She considers herself a work in progress.

What a cool story of your journey, and a fascinating book concept (especially for kids). You've given me much to think about, and I'm way behind my childhood years. :-)

I thought your comment about the fall of the Roman Empire, and the degradation that proceeded it, was right on the mark. Our society has moved so far away from what God intended. And you're right about many not believing in God at all, especially, in my experience, those in the younger generation. Irrational fear does seem to have a lot to do with that. Not trusting in God or His plan. The question remains, can we turn it around? Hopefully, with people like you speaking about their beliefs, things can change. Best wishes for you and your work!
